WELCOME
BHS's main focus is HealthCare management consulting that provides consultation to behavioral healthcare providers and clinics on the selection, implementation and effective use of EHR's (Electronic Health Records). Clients looking to adopt, integrate, implement and meaningfully use EHR's in their practices can expect us to help you with change management solutions and Provider/Clinician consultation. From successful vetting of vendors for a new or replacement EHR/EMR to implementation consultation, we have a thorough and in-depth process to walk you through this organizational transformation. Areas such as Health Information Exchange, interoperability, privacy and security, and intergrated care delivery systems are also part of the process of finding a comprehensive EHR and practice management package.
With over 20 years as healthcare Providers, we understand the challenges and systemic issues involved in adopting new technology. Our goal is to help you drive enthusiastic Clinician and Staff adoption and participation so you can achieve measurable clinical outcomes in your practice. Utilizing best practices, standardized treatment planners, reporting and tracking mechanisms, you and your practice can stay abreast of the fast-changing healthcare reforms and trends that will inevitably tie accountable care with payments and reimbursements. With a cooperative approach within your organization, patient safety, efficiency, and benchmarked outcomes will improve.
From the solo practitioner or group mental health practice to large human service organizations, health information technology is here to stay and is transforming our healthcare delivery system in an exciting, coordinated, and patient-centered way like never before. Your practice is being regulated and influenced by the HITECH Act, whether you have an EHR or not. Patient-centered care is at the heart of the reform and this requires a fundamental shift in the culture in your office. We at BHS are here to help you become HITECH-literate, innovative and educated about the impact of HITECH on behavioral health care delivery in your practice.
Behavioral Health and EHR's
Private and Small Group Practices: Your Advantage
Market trends, innovation, payement models, fee-for-service, and increasing demands by third-party payers are all transitioning and pointing in the direction of accountable, measured, outcomes-based care. Your current contracts with thrid party payers are going to change and it will behoove you to stay ahead of your competitors and those who will not make the shift to Health IT. Integrated care models, especially with hospital discharges and primary care, and health information exchange will be expected of you to remain viable providers with preferred contacts. Additionally, patients are now demanding portals and online access to their mental health health information.
Your advantage? Get started right away with transitioning to an EHR. It will be the first step in staying ahead of your competitors and will be an improvement to your practice that will pay for itself in a short amount of time.
Behavioral Health and HIPAA
Did You Know?
The OCR has begun audits for HIPAA compliance. Do you know what documents, forms, and processes you need to have in place for your practice? Some people think that if they update their Business Associate contracts to include the new Security Rule requirements this will suffice. But it does not. The SR that went into effect is descriptive of a business process, not proscriptive. The burden of demonstrable evidence that you are in compliance is on you and your organization regardless of size. This means you will need policies, processes and tracking procedures in place and documented. Do you know what your due diligence is with regards to your BA's or what documentation you need? Please contact us if you wish to know more about what you need to be in compliance, especially as a small behavioral health clinic or provider.
